Corridor Storefront Improvement Program (CSIP)
The CSIP is a program designed to provide grants of up to $10,000 to eligible property owners and business tenants for improvements to ground-floor storefronts located on Main and State Streets with the goal of improving the physical appearance of buildings along these two important corridors. Currently, funds are available for eligible projects along these corridors located in the Mason Square area on State Street, and in the North End on Main Street.

FUNDS CAN BE USED TO MAKE EXTERIOR IMPROVEMENTS SUCH AS:
- Windows and Doors
- Signage and Awnings
- Repair/Restoration of Finishes or Achitectural Detailing
- Masonry Repair
- Removal (or conversion) of Solid Roll-Down Grates

The City of Springfield's Office of Planning and Economic Development also offers resources to CDBG eligible applicants to assist businesses with Best Retail Practices and Small Business Loans. The City's Storefront Improvement Program focuses on CDBG properties that are not located on State or Main Streets. CSIP applicants who have properties on State or Main Streets should contact us at DevelopSpringfield.
